On February 9, 1869 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Van Houten, of Creston, Illinois, to this union were born ten children, seven girls and three boys; four girls and one boy survive him, also a sister, Miss Della Bacon of Sterling, Kansas. A brother Warren, never married and died in the sanitariam at Norman, Oklahoma.
In the spring of 1877, Edwin F. Bacon removed to Kansas, residing there until 1894 when they moved to Manchester, Oklahoma, where they resided until a short time before his death and was taken to Anthony for treatment. In Dec 1900 his first wife died and on December 4, 1901, He was married to Mrs. Lena Helden of Morgan Park, Illinois. Interment was in Forest Park cemetery
