William ''Bill'' Arthur Beedle, 67, of Lake Village, Ind., died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998.

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at Sheets Funeral Home in Lowell, IN.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augusta Catholic Church, Lake Village, by the Rev. Ambrose Ziegler.
Burial will be in Lowell Cemetery.

Along with his parents, he owned/ operated a service station in Cedar Lake. From 1974 he owned and operated a service station with his wife and children.

He was a former mechanic for Indy 500 drivers and taught mechanics at Nichols Engineering in Griffith. He was most recently employed for 17 years by Chicago Bus Sales in Lynwood, Ill.

He was born July 8, 1930 the son of William and Elma Beedle, who are deceased.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years, the former Mary Diane Martin, whom he married Nov. 16, 1974; eight sons and five daughters-in-law, Joe and Karen Leach of DeMotte, Jeff and Cyndi Beedle and Bill Beedle, all of Valparaiso, Terry and Debbie Beedle, Jay and Tanya Beedle, Jeff and Jenn Leach and Jerry and Angela Leach, all of Lake Village, John Leach of DesPlaines; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Jon Greenlee of Danville, Calif., Sherry and Mike Casey of Lowell and Sandy and Wally Egyed of Lake Village; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Irmadel Beedle of Bourbonnais; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Also deceased are infant twin sisters and an infant son, James Leach.

He moved to Cedar Lake in 1939. He was a 1950 graduate of Crown Point High School and had lived in Lake Village since his marriage.
Mr. Beedle was a member of the American Legion Post 375, a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He also was the Republican vice precinct committeeman for Lake Township.
