Sidney R. Bixler
Sidney Ray BIXLER, 71, farmer residing in the Mt. Olive community, seven miles south of Rochester, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home. He had been in failing health for the past three years.
He was born near Kewanna on Nov. 24, 1882, to Jonathan and Amanda (LUCAS) BIXLER. On May 16, 1909, he was married to Winnie LAKE at Kewanna. Mr. Bixler was a member of Church of the Brethren, Mexico.
Survivors are his wife, at home; five [sic] sons, George and Floyd [BIXLER], Rochester; Chester [BIXLER], Logansport; Robert [BIXLER], Niles, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Estella WARD, Valparaiso and Mrs. Dortha WOODCOX, Rochester, and a sister, Mrs. Nolan KIMBLER, Kewanna.
Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. Rev. Paul E. WEAVER, Mexico, will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home.
