Naomi (Monroe) Campbell, age 90, of Newport, born February 3, 1919 went to be with the Lord, December 9, 2009, after a lengthy illness. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and life time love, Richard (Pete) Campbell; parents, Odie and Della Monroe; brother, Roy Monroe; son-in-law, James (Crickett) Hall; and daughters-in-law, Marlene Campbell and Edna Valentine. She leaves behind her five children, Jerry Campbell, Faye (Carroll) Miller, Judy (Crickett) Hall, Ronnie (Anita) Campbell and Keith (Juanita) Campbell all of Newport; sister, Sarah Frances Smith, Alabama; grandchildren, Cindy Moyers, Kim Wood, Monica Clevenger, Mona Sutton, Mandy Grooms, Misty Fine, Rhonda Walker, Chad and Scott Campbell, Mike and Steve Hall, Justin and Jennifer Campbell; also several great grandchildren, and many many friends. The family will receive friends at Manes Funeral Home Friday evening, December 11, 2009 from 5-8 pm with the funeral services to follow, with Rev. Billy Ball officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 12, 2009 in Union Cemetery.
