HERBERT (BERT) MATTINGLY, 68, of 3010 Lindbergh Drive, died at 2:30 P.M. Thursday at his home. A native of Union County, he owned and operated Mattingly's Grocery at 21st and Griffiths. He was a member of St. Helen's Church and the Third Order of St. Francis. He is survived by his widow, the former Mary E. Barry; three daughters, Mrs. J. C. Richard, Nashville, Tenn.; Mrs. Sandra McClure and Miss Elaine Mattingly; a son, William H. Mattingly, Pittsburgh, Pa., and six grandchildren. The funeral will be at 9 A.M. Monday at St. Helen's Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The body will be at Ratterman's, 2114 W. Market, after 2 P.M. Saturday.
