John Thomas Bise, son of John and Ina Bise, was born in Republic County, Kansas, on November 28, 1882, and died at Mary Lanning hospital in Hastings, Nebr., on September 17, 1952 at the age of 69 years, 9 months, and 19 days. He was married to Mabel Jenkins at Hebron, Nebr., on Feb. 15, 1909. Five children were born to this union: Lawrence of North Platte; Mrs. Ina Fisher of Orient, Ia.; Mrs. Helen Biltoft of Nora and Kenneth and Rex who died in infancy. He and his family lived in the Byron vicinity for 18 years until 1929 when they moved to a farm south of Nora. In 1942 he and his wife moved to Ruskin which was his home until his death. He is survived by his wife, their three children and 11 grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Frank, of Canistota, So. Dak.; and a sister, Mrs. Bert Johnston of Long Beach, Calif. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Community Church with Rev. Harold Coates of Nelson, in charge. Mrs. Winifred Shipherd, accompanied by Mrs. Dale Gerbeling, sang "The City Four Square" and Rev. Imm. Petersen, accompanied by Mrs. C.O. Hull, sang "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were John Glancy, Alfred Sorensen, Eli Skinner, Frank Thayer, Ed Lanham and Chester Shipman. Burial was at Chester, Nebr.
