Etna Ansyll Strain is the daughter of Alley Henry Strain (1850-1910) and Martha Annette Cleckler (1854-1891). She married Fletcher Colquitt Brand (1883-1966) on 11 September 1910 in Gordon County, Georgia. Together they have four children:
