Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Bergman of San Antonio; a sister and brother, Mrs. Julia Spiegleberg and Bill Bergman, both of New York City; a nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Joe McMahon of San Antonio, and several other nieces and nephews in New York.
Bergman, who had been in retirement from the stage here, also served as manager of the Aztec, Texas, Broadway and State theaters for the Interstate Circuit.
Credited with the original stage introduction of many of Irving Berlin's tunes, the veteran showman also worked with Bob Hope in the stage show "Roberta" and starred in another famous stage show, "The Great Waltz."
During his career he played all of the great vaudeville circuits, including the Keith Orpheum and appeared many times at the New York Palace Theater.
