Thomas J. Armstrong, 70, of 905 Van Kirk St., Clairton, died yesterday in Watertown, N.Y. He was born Feb. 4, 1894, in Falls Creek, Pa.
Friends are being received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. at the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, where the Rev. Robert E. Bell will conduct services Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park.
Mr. Armstrong was a retired superintendent of plant protection of the Clairton Works, U.S. Steel Corp. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clairton and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 803 of Clairton. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Armstrong; daughters, Mrs. Homer McGrew of Jefferson and Mrs. Robert Fields of Syracuse, N.Y.; a son, James W. of Syracuse; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Mrs. Arthur Carlson of DuBois, Pa., and Mrs. S. Schriver of Apollo.
