Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Church for Charles French, prominent farmer of the Arlington vicinity, who died in the Methodist Hospital in Omaha. He had been confined there only a brief time, although his health had been poor for some months. Mr. French was 67 years old, and his entire life was spent on the farm where he was born, northeast of Arlington and which his parents had homesteaded in early days, after coming here in a covered wagon from Marion, Iowa.

Besides his wife, the deceased is survived by three sons and two daughters, Harold, Raymond, Gifford, and Ethel, all of this vicinity, and Irene of Omaha.
The church was crowded with neighbors and friends and there were a large number of floral offerings. The services were conducted by the Rev. A.W. Clarke of Rose Hill and Rev. David Simpson of Arlington.

Mrs. Dora Ludwig and Mrs. Alvin Anderson, accompanied by Miss Maria Menking on the piano, sang, "Abide With Me", "Jesus Savior Pilot Me", and "Sometime We'll Understand". The pallbearers were all nephews and were Clarence French, Leslie French, Fred French, Alison French, Charles French, and William Craven.
Interment was made in the Arlington Cemetery.
