Phillip Thomas a well known citizen of elder Township died very suddenly at his home December 21, about 3 o'clock. Deceased was born on a farm near St Lawrence on July 30, 1835 and of was aged a little more than 61 years. He survived by his wife, four sons, and three daughters all of whom are married except for Jacob the youngest son. Five brothers and three sisters survive: Jacob, John D., Michael, Valentine, Martin, Mrs Martin Yahner, Mrs A. C. Langbein, and Mrs George Kibler, all of whom are residents of northern Cambria County, and among the best known people in that section.
