Born at Etting Green, Norfolk, East Dereham, England 11 Nov., 1853 to Elizabeth Ward. Came to the United States 3 July, 1871 aboard the USS Wyoming. Arrived at Ogden, Utah 12 July, 1871. Married Rose Ellen Hatch 18 Dec., 1879 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had a son Daniel, and a daughter named Rose Ella. His first wife Rose Ellen died 20 March, 1885 from tuberculosis.

The following is from a copy of a letter written by Brigham Claud Ward March 25, 1885.

Son of G. H. W. and Elizabeth (Stevenson) Ward. Baptized December 26, 1866 by Elder William Thompson. Confirmed by Elder James George. Emigrated from England to Utah June 19, 1871. Arrived at Liverpool, England June 20. Sailed from Liverpool June 21, at noon, pleasant journey across ocean. Arrived at New york July 4, 1871. Started from New York evening of the 4th. Arrived at Ogden, Utah July 12. Stayed in Ogden one month. Started for Skull Valley, Utah and stayed there most of the time for twelve years.

Brigham was also a City Marshall in Sandy, Utah.
