Rev. Dr. Glenn Steven Wallace, 58, minister and accomplished musician, died on Nov. 29, 2009. Dr. Wallace was born in East Orange, and graduated from Weequahic High School in 1969. An accomplished musician, he started his career with the Soul Dukes in 1970. He recorded with Motown Records with the Platinum Hook and in 1983 with RCA Records. He toured extensively throughout the world with his group. Dr. Wallace taught music in the Newark public schools. In 1999, he received his master of arts degree in ministry and doctorate in 2001 from the Carolina University of Theology. He spent the remaining years in Hawaii ministering at the Hilo Church of the Nazarene. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 15-21 Sanford St., East Orange. Interment is in Rosedale Cemetery, Orange. Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Dr. Wallace was the son of the late Theodore Wallace and Irene Ellen Clark-Wallace. He is survived by his sister, Ivy J. Wallace; aunts, Jean Brown, Marion Clark and Alberta Clark-Daniels; nephews, Quinn and Shawn Hazelwood; cousins, Marguerite Eaton and Carol Clark, and best friend, Dr. Bruce Marshall.
