LAWHON, WALTER E. - age 100 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Colonial Hills Nursing Home. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church, retired from ALCOA with 30 years of service and a member of the 25 Year Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Blair Lawhon; grandchildren, Marsha Lawhon, Trina Hatcher Belcher. Survivors include his daughter, Vonda Hatcher; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy G. and Jean Lawhon, Lloyd and Brenda Lawhon all of Maryville; grandchildren, Steven & Myra Lawhon, Carol & Jack Wood, Danny Hatcher all of Maryville; great grandchildren, Josh (Sarah) Lawhon of Nokesville, VA, John Lawhon of Murfreesboro, TN, Chad Wood of Paris Island, SC, Christopher Wood of Maryville, Angela Lynn Smiley and husband Tim; great great grandchildren, Clarie and TJ Smiley, Ryan Hatcher. The family wants to thank Dr. Ingram for his dedication and love for Mr. Lawhon and to the staff of Colonial Hills Nursing Home for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wes Rankin and Rev. Gary Thomas officiating. The interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
