SCARBROUGH, EVELYN COX HOWELL - age 79, Rock Hill, S.C., passed away Tuesday, December 8, 1998, at White Oak Manor. Mrs. Scarbrough was a member of Charlotte Ave. Church of Christ and she was a homemaker. Born in Blount County to the late William and Tunnel Ogle Cox.

Survivors: two daughters, Margaret Fralix of Rock Hill, S.C., Pat McReynolds of Peoria, Ariz.; three sons, Ralph Howell of Peoria, Ariz., Jack Howell of Glendale, Calif., Ray Howell of Glendale, Ariz.; four brothers, Kenneth, Bill, Ray and Jim Cox, all of Knoxville; five sisters, Cleda Stokes and Edith Silvery of Knoxville, Ruby Minge of Dayton, Ohio, Faye Amburn of Huntsville, Ala., Tunnell Spence of Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Edgewood Cemetery with Rev. David Pharr officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Charlotte Ave. Church of Christ, 339 Charlotte Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

McCarty-Weaver Cumberland Chapel in charge of arrangements.
