COX, GLENN RAYMOND (RAY) - age 74, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, August 18, 2000 at his residence. He was retired from Rust Engineering in Oak Ridge, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, of Knoxville. Mr. Cox was a 32nd Degree Mason, and had served as past Master of Beaver Ridge Lodge #366, F&AM, and also was past Patron of Beaver Ridge OES Chapter 320. He was a member of Bricklayers Local #3.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, W.L. and Tunnell Cox; and sisters, Evelyn Scarborough [sic Scarbrough], and Tunnell Spence.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene Rayfield Cox; a son, Steven R. Cox; daughters and sons in law, Nancy and Steven Underwood, Brenda and Tony Owens, and Kathy and Rick Adams; grandsons, Joshua Owens and wife, Heather, and Michael Adams; granddaughters, Stephanie Underwood and Jamie Underwood, and Jennifer Owens; a great granddaughter, Alyssa Owens, all of Knoxville; brothers and sisters in law, Kenneth and Pearlie, Bill and Sue, and Jim and B.J. Cox, all of Knoxville; sisters and brothers in law, Cleda and Bob Stokes, and Edith Silvey and Ed Cunningham, of Knoxville, Ruby and Carl Minge of Dayton, Ohio, and Faye and Goody Amburn of Huntsville, Ala., and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday August 20, 2000 at the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Hayes officiating. Masonic services will be conducted preceding the services by Beaver Creek Lodge #366 F&AM. Interment services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the Funeral Home by 10:15 a.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Cox, Josh Owens, Tony Owens, Michael Adams, Rick Adams, and Steve Underwood.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Weaver Funeral Home, 5815 Western Ave. 588-3868.
