Martha Clara Edwards, 90, of Seward, died April 10, 2007, at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home, Indiana. Born Dec. 21, 1916, in Latrobe, she was the daughter of Aaron and Jennie Frye Loughner.
Martha was a member of Seward United Methodist Church, Golden Rule Class, Seward Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; and Armagh and Seward senior citizen centers.
Surviving are her daughter, Lueana Swiney, East Lake, Ohio; a son, James and wife Carol, Seward; eight grandchildren; Jeffrey, Brian and Michael Swiney, James Edwards, Armour Edwards, Tammy Yahnert, Leslie Edwards and Stacey Buettner; six great-grandchildren, Autumn Edwards, Laura and Kevin Swiney, Sean and Kyle Swiney and Holly and Bill Stiles; a brother, Theodore Loughner, Blairsville; and a son-in-law, John D. Swiney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard, who died in 1978; son, Armour, who died in 1977; stepson, Leonard Wayne; brothers, Charles Cute, Jim Loughner, Robert Loughner and Ferd Loughner; and sister, Virginia Succheralli.
Friends were received at the Jon A. Meese Funeral Home, Seward. Funeral services were held Friday at Seward United Methodist Church, the Rev. Ronald Emery officiating. Interment followed in Armagh Cemetery.
