Born in Lebanon on April 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Clement A. and Miriam Smith Bell. A graduate of LHS, class of 1937 and Lebanon Business College in 1939, she held several secretarial positions including Sears, Hartford College for Women and the Lebanon V.A. Medical Center. She retired from the V.A. in 1982 after serving there 15 years as a secretary. Her interests included family, friends, church and the community. She was an active member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church where she was an ordained Deacon, active member of the Presbyterian Women's Association, one of the developers of Mothers' Day Out and the Prayer Circle Group. As a retired government employee, she was a member of the County and Federal Associations NARFE. She was also a member of the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxillary for over 40 years and involved in the Street Fair during the years it was held in Park Place. She served on the board of Lebanon County Workshop (now Quest) and was its secretary for several years. More recently she devoted her efforts to Macular Degeneration. Being afflicted with this eye disease shortly after moving to Cornwall Manor, she developed a support group there to aid others in coping. Recently she was instrumental in the formation of another group, which the Lebanon Lions Club is supporting in order to reach Lebanon County residents. Survivors include her daughter, Susan, wife of the Rev. Norman Myer of Fishers, Ind.; grandson, Neil husband of Heather Myer; granddaughters, Nancy Myer, and Marjorie Myer, wife of Daniel Jack; greatgrandsons, Ian and twins Garrett and Brennan Jack; and a brother, John Bell, of Annville. Memorial services will be Wednesday afternoon, 2 p.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 600 S. 12th St., Lebanon. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Cornwall Manor Employees' Christmas Fund, P.O.
