Born in Breckinridge County on December 21,1907, Mr. Mattingly was a son of the late John and Mary Ellen Mays Mattingly. He was a farmer and a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church. His wife, Mrs. Helen Marie Mattingly, preceded him in death in 1993. Surviving is a daughter, Margaret Mary Fair, Floyds Knobs, IN; four grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. The funeral was held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, August 4, from St. Romuald Catholic Church, Hardinsburg, with Father Terry Devine officiating. Burial was in St. Romuald Cemetery under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg.
