Sarah Lucille died of kidney failure and was buried 21 Dec 1949 at the Highlandville IOOF Cemetery in an unmarked grave next to her husband.

Mrs. Sarah L. Couts, 82, pioneer resident of Ozark, died in her home here at 9:30 a.m. Monday after an illness of three weeks. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Maggie Warren, 2054 East Ave., Springfield, and Mrs. Altha Bean of Galloway, Mo., a son, Frank W. Couts of Highlandville, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Tolbert, Brookline, Mo., and Mrs. Maggie Davis, 737 South Robberson, Springfield. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Chaffin Funeral Home chapel at Ozark, with the Rev. Worth Caughron officiating. Burial was in Highlandville cemetery.

She was actually the daughter of Thomas Woodford and Mahala Jane [Cook] Davis. One of eight children. She married June 29 1890 to Wade Franklin Couts in Christain County, MO.
