Bailey, William Harvey-82, of Roseburg, passed away at his home Dec. 26, 1982. He was born Dec 4, 1900, in Detroit, Mich. He moved from Michigan in 1909 with his family and settled in the Roseburg area. On Aug 10, 1927, in Dixonville, he married Winona Trussell. Together the Bailey's raised apples, cherries and other fruit on their property in Dixonville and in recent years grew Christmas trees. Mr Bailey had been an active member of the South Deer Creek Grange. He was also an avid outdooorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He had been to Africa twice on hunting expeditions. He is survived by his wife, Winona of Roseburg; 1 son, Charles Bailey and his wife, Dorothy of Roseburg; 1 brother-in-law, Ernest Trussell and his wife, Margaret of Roseburg; 4 grandsons, Michael William Bailey of Vernonia, Ore., Gary Charles Bailey of Klamath Falls, Gregory Scott Bailey of Roseburg & Brian Alan Bailey of Springfield. Services will be held Tuesday, Dec 28, 1982 at 2 P.M. at the LONG & SHUKLE MEMORIAL CHAPEL with Chaplain Emmett Dosier officiating. Private interment will follow in Roseburg Memorial Gardens. At the family's request, those who wish, may make contributions in Mr. Bailey's memory to the Community Cancer Foundation and these may be left at Long & Shukle Memorial Chapel who are in charge of arrangements.
