Second Victim of Tragedy
Mrs. Luther Welborn Succumbs to Injuries Received Saturday.
Elmo, Tex., June 7 - Mrs. Luther Welborn died at 11:45 this morning from the effects of injuries received Saturday afternoon when the buggy in which she was riding was struck by an engine, an account of which appeared in The Transcript of that date. Mrs. Welborn is the second victim of the deplorable tragedy which has cast such a deep sorrow over this entire community, her father, A. H. Brown, who was with her at the time, having received injuries from the effects of which she died almost instantly. Mrs. Welborn, previous to her marriage, was Miss Bessie Brown of this place. Her husband and an infant child survive. One child was also hurt in the accident which has cost two lives, but it is believed that it will recover.
The funeral will be held at Elmo tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Baptist church. Interment will follow at the College Mound cemetery.
