Bonnie Lorene Atwell, 73, Iberia, died Monday at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach. She was born April 18, 1916, in Iberia, a daughter of Harry and Ella Skaggs Ferguson. She was married Aug. 6, 1940, in Iberia to Lathel Dennis Atwell, who died May 1, 1984.
She spent most of her life in the Iberia area, although she also lived in the states of California and Oregon for about 12 years in the 1940s and 50s.
She worked nearly 25 years in the meat department of the H & L Supermarket in Crocker and Iberia, and continued to work for the company on a part-time basis until the time of her death.
She was a member of the Iberia United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Michael Atwell, Osage Beach; three brothers, Wayne Ferguson, Azusa, Calif., Hunter Ferguson, Iberia, and Ellis Ferguson, Prairie Village, Kan.; three sisters, Mary Hammack, Iberia, Lucille Tonkyn, Delavan, Wisc., and Elma Armisted, St. Louis, and three grandchildren.
