Proctor - John Shanahan died Sunday morning about 9 o'clock at his home on Creamery avenue after an illness of about a week. Mr. Shanahan was born in Ireland and was 68 years old. He has been a resident here for 20 years. He was a member of the G.A.R. and attended the encampment at Gettysburg this summer. He was also a member of the American Foresters and the Holy Name society. Mr. Shanahan had been employed by the Clarendon and Pittsford railroad and for some years had been in charge of the sections gangs. He is survived by a wife, a daughter Katherine, and a son, James, residing here. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock in St. Dominic's church and burial will be in Calvary cemetery in Rutland.
