Virginia Frances Kreger, 89, of Antigo, died Thursday at Langlade Memorial Hospital under LaRoyer Hospice care.
Mrs. Kreger was born on Oct. 25, 1908 in Thomas, W. Va., a daughter of the late John and Agatha (Petek) Thompson.
She married Rudolph Zaitz in 1929. He preceded her in death in 1954. Her second marriage was to Boyd Kreger in 1958. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Mrs. Kreger was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Antigo.
She moved to Antigo as a child with her family.
Mrs. Kreger was employed as an artist for Margaret Studios and later Spurgeon's Department Store.
She enjoyed baking and her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Koeppel, Antigo; a son-in-law, Gene Pavek, Antigo; stepchildren, Glenn Kreger, Hatley, Beverly Wire, Milwaukee and Mrs. Gary (Mary Ann) Piller, Antigo; a sister, Agatha Kilbreath, Flint, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Ann Pavek, a brother, John Thompson Jr. and four sisters, Mae Beaubian, Julia Skodinski, Doris St. Germaine and Ann Auer.
