Marguerite M. Johnston, 102, of ManorCare Health Services, Pottsville, died on Monday at the nursing home. Born in Washingtonville, Feb. 15, 1900, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Clara Snyder Martz. She was a 1918 graduate of Turbotville High School and a 1920 graduate of Rider Moore College, Trenton, N.J. She was a teacher at Pottsville Junior High School during the 1940s and the former Ford School of Business, Pottsville, retiring in 1965. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, and its Circle III. Her husband, Robert L., died in 1972; a son, Robert D., died May 19, 1997. Surviving are a son; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Charles Barber Cemetery, Pottsville. Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home Inc., Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
