Burnsville, N.C. - Chloe Roland, 94, of Mountain View Road, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at The Oaks of Sweeten Creek.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Stonewall J. and Elizabeth Styles Brown and the wife of James Otis Roland who died in 1984.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Fox, Pauline Gibbs, Daisy Gardner and Mable Brown; and brothers, George and Charles Brown.
Surviving are her son, Randy Roland and wife, Maria, of Weaverville; step-granddaughter, Peggy Watson and husband, Chris; and step-great-grandson, Nick Watson of Leicester; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. The Rev. Ricky Ray will officiate.
Burial will be in the West Burnsville Cemetery.
