Roeller Haas, a farmer in Longswamp township, Berks county, the greater part of his life, died yesterday afternoon at his home in Maxatawny. He was aged 84 years. Born in Longswamp township, he was a son of the late Reuben and Catherine, nee Long, Haas. He was a member of the Reformed congregation at Maxatawny church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna, nee Gerhart, Haas; six daughters, Mrs. Harry Mengel, Maxatawny; Mrs. Irvin Diefenderfer, Wescosville; Mrs. Norman Hoffman, Wescosville; Mrs. Warren Ziegler, Allentown; Mrs. Edward Brewen, Allentown, and Mrs. Warren Dietrich, Maxatawny, and three sons, Harry, Breinigsville R. 1; Paul, Maxatawny, and Wayne, Baltimore, Md. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Henry Walbert, Alburtis R. 1; two brothers, Nicholas, Reading, and Reuben, Topton, and 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the late home in Maxatawny. Continued services are scheduled for Maxatawny church, followed by burial in the cemetery adjoining the church. The Rev. Franklin D. Slifer will officiate.
