Additional information:

Born in Stratford, Connecticut and served in Lemuel Hyde's Company of Militia (Webster's Rgt) in the Revolutionary War. Amaziah Church (founder of Churchville) and his father Samuel both also served in this regiment, and Ephraim married Orpha / Orphia, Samuel's oldest child, in 1780. Ephraim was 41 and Orphia was 18 yrs. This may have been his second marriage.

They appear in 1790 Census as living in Milton, Vermont. Other members of the Church family are listed as living in the community too.

In 1819 the family is noted as living in LaChute, QC. In 1833 Ephraim dies & is buried in Streetsville Peel County, just down the Credit River from Churchville, which is named for his Brother-in-Law Amaziah. Orpha dies & is buried in Streetsville on Feb 15th, 1835.

Streetsville is significant, as Orpha's younger sister, Mary Hyde (nee Church) is noted as having opened one of the first inns in the village there in 1824: The Ontario Inn.

6 children: Samuel, Gideon, Brunson, Zenas, Phebe and Philo.
