John C. Saylor, aged 76, a well known miller, died today near Parker's Ford. He was a native of Wurtemburg, and came to this country when seven years of age. He was the father of fourteen children three of them having died in infancy, since which time death as not invaded the family circle. Among the sons are Alfred R. Saylor, of Wilmington, Delaware; Lewis R. Saylor, of Pottstown; Dr. Edward R. Saylor, proprietor of the Pottstown Machine Works. He was prominent in the Masonic and Odd Fellows' fraternities.

A very large attendance marked the funeral on Friday of John C. Saylor ,the esteemed and well-known citizen and miller of East Coventry, Chester County. It was a deserved tribute to a worthy man. The services were held at the family residence, and were in charge of Rev. L. J. Bickel, of Pottstown, assisted by Rev. W. T. Johnston, of Parke's Ford. The funeral procession walked from the house to the grave in Oak View Cemetery (Union Meeting House), where after brief services, the remains were lowered into the grave. The pall bearers were six stalwart sons of the deceased: Irvin Saylor, of Parker's Ford; A. R. Saylor, of Wilmington, Delaware; Harvey Saylor, of Camden, N.J.; Dr. Edward Saylor, of Philadelphia; and John R. Saylor an Lewis R. Saylor, of Pottstown. Delegations of members of Masonic and Odd Fellows Lodges of Pottstown were present.
