CHILLICOTHE -- Joanne L. DeFoe, 68, of 1316 W. Chestnut St. died at 6:01 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born April 2, 1931, in Peoria to Charles and Nan Pearce Droll, she married Robert DeFoe on Nov. 12, 1950, in Chillicothe. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Daniel of Blue Springs, Mo., and Craig of Rome; one brother, Charles Droll of Gilbert, Ariz.; one sister, Carol Bornsheuer of Midland, Mich.; and five grandchildren.

She worked for Minneapolis Moline and White Farm Equipment in Peoria for many years and later worked at Caterpillar in Peoria as a secretary, retiring in 1984. She volunteered at Parkhill Nursing Home in Chillicothe.

She was a former Cub Scout den mother.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, where she formerly taught Sunday school.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at her church. The Rev. Keith Ferguson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in LaSalle Cemetery in rural Chillicothe. Weber Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Rescue 33 or her church.
