______________

Death of Henry Snider

The old pioneers of this district are fast passing from the scene of action. Another one was laid away on Wednesday morning in the person of Henry S. Snider, who died on Monday morning. Deceased came to this part of the country when it was yet a wild waste of woodland. By hard work he cleared away the forest and became possessed of a fruitful and well-cultivated farm, besides securing farms for his sons. He was of a reserved and quiet disposition and seldom came to town during the last few years of his life. Death was due to old age -- the candle was burnt out. Deceased leaves a widow, three sons, namely Joshua living near Elora, Reuben on the Elias Eby farm, and Paul at home; four daughters, namely Katie married to Elias Bricker of Okotoka, Alberta, and Magdalena, Lavina and Angeline. The interment took place on Wednesday forenoon in presence of a large number of relatives, friends and neighbors.
