SPAULDING RITES ARE IN LAWTON
Funeral services for retired Army Master Sgt. Glen (Spider) Spaulding Jr., 63, were held December 24 in Lawton Heights United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Hooper officiating assisted by Rev. Lowrie Welton, paster of the church.
Spaulding died December 20 at Fort Sill hospital after a brief illness.
Burial was with full military honors at Fort Sill Post Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home.
He was born April 4, 1921 in Enid. He had lived in Lawton since 1942. He retired from the Army at Fort Sill August 31, 1960 after 21 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.
He managed two bowling centers in Lawton following his retirement. He was also an agent for National Life and Accident Insurance Co., for 17 years.
He married Christine Creswell of Temple in Hollis December 31, 1941. He was a member of the Lawton Heights United Methodist Church, a former member of the Noon Lions Club, Altus, the Lawton Optimist Club and the Sheridan Kiwanis Club, Lawton.
He is survived by his wife, of the home, three sons, Guerry, Benbrook, Texas; Steven, Grapevine, Texas and Larry, Lawton; five sisters, Colene Hough, Rogers, Ark.; Eva Lou Tyson, Enid; Vonda Loucks, Enid; Thelma Holloway, Las Vegas, Nev.; Melba Nobis, Susanville, Calif.; three brothers, Kermit, Wichita, Kansas; Richard, Arcadia; Dean, Enid; and nine grandchildren.
