Raymond G. Yager, 87, of Rush County, died Nov. 12, 2009.
Born Feb. 22, 1922 in Ripley County, he was the son of Fred and Matilda (Kieffer) Yager, both deceased. He married Mary Rita Pflum Aug. 27, 1955; she preceded him in death May 17, 1999.
Mr. Yager graduated from New Marion High School (Ripley County) in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a lifelong farmer. Memberships include Indiana Farm Bureau and St. Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include daughters, Carol A. (Tom) Tully of Rushville and Marilyn S. Yager of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Mathew and Michael Tully and Jennifer and Eric Yager-Schweller; sisters, Alice Nobbe of Batesville, Esther (Maurice) Nieman of Greensburg and Alberta Neuman of Rushville; brothers, Aaron Yager of Rushville, Henry Yager of Clarksburg, Francis (Kathleen) Yager of Rushville and Alfred (Eleanor) Yager of Rushville.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville with the Rev. William Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville's Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville where there will be a Rosary Service at 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
