Chickasha - Services for retired clothing merchant and former Cordell mayor Joseph J. Aberson, 77, will be held at 2 pm Monday at the Memorial Park Cemetery (see footnote) in Oklahoma City. Brown Funeral Home of Chickasha is in charge of the arrangements.
Aberson died at his home Friday following a sudden illness.
A native of Port Chester N.Y., Aberson owned and operated a clothing store at Cordell from 1935 until his retirement in 1965 and was a former mayor and past president of the chamber of commerce of that city.
A member of the Kiwanis Club, the B'Nai Brith Lodge o. 1347, Temple B'Nai Israel and a veteran of World War I. Aberson has resided in Chickasha since 1969.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, and one son, Arnold, of Oklahoma City.
