The Charleston Gazette, Tuesday, June 30, 1959: Mrs. Ida Mae, 82, of Gassaway, Braxton County, died Monday morning in a Fayetteville nursing home. She was a member of the Villa Nova Baptist Church in Gassaway. Surviving are her husband, James E. Case; seven sons, Donald of Baltimore, Jimmy of Gassaway, Gene, with the Army in Texas, Leland of Brooklyn, N. Y., Leo of Tacoma, Wash., Jack of Falls View and Charles of Lorain, Ohio: six daughters, Virginia Faulkner, Mrs. Helen Allison and Miss Betty Case; all of Brooklyn, Mrs, Emma Mayes of Duck, Mrs. Hazel Goodwin of Morgantown and Miss Nancy Case, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Ersla Eagle of Duck and Mrs. Callie Grimes of Parkersburg; one half-brother, Jimmy Friend of Duck; and 28 grandchildren. Service will be conducted at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday in the Bartlett mortuary chapel in Gassaway by Rev. Ernest Hammack and Rev. Donald Taylor. Burial will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. The body is at the mortuary.
