He attended the Staunton Miltitary Academy
and graduated from the Bellefonte Academy.
He received his degree in Pharmacy from the
University of Pittsburgh in 1912.
Afterwards,operating the Beyer's Drug Store,
that his father founded,for 35 years,until last year.
He was the Jefferson County Coroner
for the past 4 years and was recently
re-elected to a 2nd term.
He was the Narcotics Inspector for the
Pennsylvanmia Department of Health.
He was a member of the
First Methodist Church,the John W. Jenks Masonic
Lodge,the Corn Cob Club, and was one of the
25 active members of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club.
He was married to the former
Helen Pollock on 4 November 1915.
He was survived by his wife;a daughter,
Mrs. Thomas A.[Jane] Jenkins of Philadelphia;
a son, Joseph M. Beyer of Punxsutawney;
2 grandchildren; one brother,
J. Walter Beyer of Tulsa,Okla.;
Mrs. W.B. Hampson of Washington D.C.;
Mrs. Lee S. North and
Mrs.R.L. Young of Warren,Pa.;
Mrs. J.B. Flenniken of Tulsa.
