Mary Catherine Brookhart Oberman, 84, of Kahoka, MO died Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

She was born July 20, 1922 in Arbela, Missouri the daughter of George and Izara Bechtel Brookhart. She was united in marriage to Wilbur Oberman June 28, 1941 in Memphis, MO. He preceded her in death in 1989.

Mary worked at Wright Fashions in Keokuk, Iowa for 25 years. She then moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1982 and worked at Pauline's Fashions. She was a member of the Colorado A.F. - A.M. Lodge. She returned to Kahoka, Missouri in 1999.

She was of the Methodist faith and attended Kahoka Methodist Church. She was a volunteer for OATS and was named volunteer of the year. She loved to do crossword puzzles and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Mary is survived by, two nieces, Verlee Vair of Quincy, IL, and Marilyn Purcell and her husband Terry of St. Charles, MO, several nephews, James Rutledge of Arizona, Don Clift and his wife Rosalie, Danny Oberman and his wife Bev, Terry Oberman and his wife Jean all of Kahoka, Larry LaFrenz and his wife Yvonne of Wyaconda, MO, Jim Oberman and his wife Rhonda of Hamilton, IL, and Robert LaFrenz and his wife Diane of Canton, MO.

Funeral services were held at 4 P.M. Monday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, Mo. with Rev. Shawn McAfee officiating.

Visitation was after 1 P.M. with family meeting with friends from 3– 4 P.M. at the funeral home.

Entombment was in the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum in Colorado Springs, CO.

Memorials were made to OATS.
