Joseph Ruel Adams, 72, died Thursday, March 15, 1990 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah. He resided at 669 West 1850 North in Provo, Utah at the time of his death.

He was born February 25, 1918 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, a son of Joseph Rueland Pearl Wright Adams.

He married Lena Lamb on October 11, 1940 in Orem. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died February 23, 1989.

He owned and operated Phillips Super Service in Provo for thrity years. He was a member of the LDS Church.

He is survived by two sons and three daughters, David J. Adams, Orem; William Brent ''Bill'' Adams, Provo; Mrs. Carl (Jolene) Liddell, Alamosa, CO; Mrs. Mark (Sheryl) Olsen, Provo; Mrs. Greg (Nancy) Gagon, Salem; 14 grandchildren, one great grandchild; three sisters, Ruby Olsen, Las Vegas; Reva Davis, Salt Lake City; and Geniel Wilberg, Pleasant Grove. Two sons, Thomas Ruel and Roger Duane Adams, and a sister Beth Burke preceded him in death.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. in the Provo Grandview Eighth Ward Chapel (Carterville) 960 West 2150 North, Provo. Friends may call on Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, and on Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the Ward Chapel.
Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
