Truble at Monroe School.
A report Saturday said that Miss Isaphene Gideon, who teaches the Independence school in the Goe. Malone district, had been assaulted. It is stated that the teacher had caused a son of Alex Freel to remain at school after the others were dismissed. The scholar started to leave the building and Miss Gideon forcibly detained him, which caused the lad to kake such an out cry that his mother who lives near the school, heard him and went his assistance. The mother assaulted the teacher. Miss Gideon caused her arrest, and a $25 fine was imposed.

Miss Isaphene Gideon of near Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Mr. J. B. Claywell of this city were married at the home of the bride on Wednesday, November 27, 1912, Rev. Dowdy performing the ceremony. The marriage was kept a secret until Monday of this week, when Mrs. Claywell came up to spend the holidays with her husband.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Gideon of near Ponca City, Oklahoma, and is teaching school there this winter. She taught several successful terms in this county before going there. She is an accomplished and refined young lady of many grace and has a large number of admiring friends. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Claywell of near Fostoria and is an honest, upright and industrious young man of good habits and enjoys a wide acquaintance. He has been working as deputy in the county treasurer's office for several years.
Mrs. Claywell will return to Ponca City after the holidays and complete her term of school, which expires some time in April, when she will return here and they will go to housekeeping. The Signal joins their many friends in extending hearty congratulations.
