Patricia Alena, second daughter of Otto and Ruth Karnatz, was born December 28, 1934 at Santa Anna, California, living there until 1937 when she moved with her parents to Burr Oak, Kansas where she resided until time of her death. Patty Lee attended school at District 89 for 5 years and the Burr Oak school the last two years. She was a sunny disposition and general favorite with her playmates. Patty was stricken with infantile paralysis and taken to the Asbury Hospital at Salina, Kansas, April 20, 1946, where she passed away on Sept 21, 1946. Patty was reared in the Adventist Faith and gave her heart to Jesus at the age of two as soon as she could understand. She was faithful in reading the lesson and asking the blessing to those who cared for her. It certainly comforts our hearts to know she was ready to go, God saw fit to take our treasure from us be we yield to His will. Patty leaves to mourn her untimely passing 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 2 sister-in-laws, Kenneth and wife Lucille of California, Raymond and wife Loran of Burr Oak; Otto, Jr, Betty Jean and Virginia Irene of the home. She also leaves her aged grandparents, Mr and Mrs J F Karnatz of Burr Oak and D Wheeler of California besides several uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. Private graveside services were held Monday afternoon at the Burr Oak Cemetery conducted by Rev L J Poe of Wesley Center.
