Casseday Rites. Preston Republican. Terra Alta, WV. Thur., Jul 18, 1935. pg. 1

Rowlesburg -- Funeral services were held at the residence Saturday afternoon the Rev. Arthur Lazenby, pastor of the M. E. church, officiating for Charles G. Casseday, 73, whose death occurred at his home on the South Side on Thursday night following a lingering illness of complications.

The deceased was the son of the late James and Catherine Knotts Casseday and was born on a farm about six miles south of Rowlesburg, June 30, 1862. He was united in marriage to Miss. Ida May Saucer, on May 30, 1884, and to this union were born four sons; Nelson and Claude of York, Pa., Opha of Rowlesburg, and Clarence at home.

Besides the widow and four sons he is also survived by four grandchildren. The Cassedays celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on May 30, 1934.

The deceased was a retired lumber inspector, and had resided in Rowlesburg for 33 years, coming here from Flemington. Burial was in the Knotts Cemetery.
