Son of Revolutionary War Veteran, James David Smith & Sarah Rebecca Lindley.

"James C. Smith and Sarah were married in 1804 in Greenville, SC. and then had their family in SC and moved to Walton, Georgia and had more." Pat Egert

According to her Bible (Ragsdale Family Genealogy) Children of James & Sarah:

1) Fanny married John Pharr.

2) David married Patsy Whaley, daughter of Eli and Aline (Thompson) Whaley. Eli was the son of James Whaley and Aline was the daughter of David Thompson.

3) Charity married Starling Clack.

4) Edward married Mary Millsap.

5) Arnold married Elizabeth Thompson, the daughter of David Thompson. His second wife was Frances Johnson.

6) James Jr. married Nancy Twitty.

7) Betsy married Allen Ridgeway.
