Florence nee Miller Barr Vandervort , of Phoenix, Arizona, died 17 January 2001 in Phoenix.
Mrs. Vandervort was born 9 June 1909, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Martin S. "Wesley" Miller & Florence Mae (Swab - [sic- McKee ]) Miller.
In July 1928, she married Howard Reed Barr, who preceded her in death in November 1966.
In August 1970,she married Clarence (Carney) Vandervort, who preceded her in death in June 1979.
She was a member of the Phoenix First Church of the Nazarene and a former member of the Brookville Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving relatives include a son, Clarence Oscar Barr of Brookville;
a daughter, Eleanor Miner of Phoenix;
four step-daughters:
Betty Mauk and husband Jack of Brookville,
Virginia Smith and husband Eddie of Baxter,
Joyce Murphy of Brookville
and Juanita Egan of Reynoldsville;
a step-son. Bob Vandervort and wife Barb of Sigel;
nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, John R. Barr;
a daughter, Helen Joanne Barr;
a grandson, Mark Mason:
a step-daughter, Mary Lou McKinney;
five sisters and six brothers.
A memorial service will he held in Brookville at a later date. Interment will he in St. Matthews Cemetery in Ramsaytown.
