Gerrit Van Otterloo passed peacefully away at his home in Rock Valley Sunday afternoon, after a lingering illness of several months, having attained the age of nearly sixty-nine years.
Mr. Van Otterloo was born in the year of 1857 at Gelderland, Netherland.
At the age of ten years he came with his parents to this country. They resided in different places in Michigan and South Dakota. Mr. Van Otterloo came to Rock Valley in 1915, and has resided here continuously since that time.
Mr. Van Otterloo was a man of good Christian character and a man who was well thought of by all who knew him.
He leaves a wife, a son, John, and a daughter, Alice Mrs. W. H. Vugteveen, and two step-sons, Rev. J. Mulder, of Everett, Washington and Gerrit Mulder who lives in California, and one step-daughter, Mrs.A. VanKley, of Rock Valley vicinity.
The children from a distance are expected here for the funeral which will be held at the home Friday, after noon at 1:30 o'clock and at the Christian Reformed Church at 2:00 o'clock.
