Truman Sylvester Cooper
Truman Sylvester Cooper, 87, Fordland, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, in Doctors Hospital, Springfield.
Truman was born on Oct. 1, 1913, in Spickard, Mo., to John Milton Cooper and Lelia May Flowers Cooper. He was married to Helen May Vandevender on March 20, 1939, in Trenton, Mo., and she preceded him in death on June 24, 1987. Truman was a member of the Cass Chapel Baptist Church, Fordland, and was a retired farmer and carpenter.
Surviving is one son, Gary Van Cooper and wife Jill, O'Fallon, Mo.; one daughter, Grace Ann Spoon and husband Richard, Fordland, one sister, Wanda Tuttle Cox and husband, Raphael, Trenton, Mo.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, in Fordland Cemetery, Fordland.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the Preston - Marsh Funeral Home, Rogersville.
