~I Love You Grandma~

My dearest Grandma, Evelyn Greany, passed away October 31st, 2009 at the age of 90. She was such a fun woman always full of laughter and love. I love you Grandma. Rest in sweet peace.

Evelyn H. Greany (90), of San Diego, CA passed away in her sleep on October 31, 2009 after a long battle with Alzheimer's and Dementia.
Born Evelyn Hildamae Coleman on January 14, 1919 in Ludlow, MA to parents William Henry and Evelyn Beatrice Coleman, she was the third of four children. Her older brother William Coleman and sister Mildred Johnston predeceased her. Sister Ruth Bretta still resides in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts.
Having retired from The Broadway Department Store, she was best remembered as the "Most Imperial Turtle". She had such a large turtle collection it even brought news crews to her home. She always wore a turtle pin or a shirt with a turtle theme.
Known all her life as Evie, she was married for over 44 years to her husband Edward, a retired career Naval officer, until his death in 1986.
She is survived by two sons, Edward Jr. of Pinon Hills and Thomas of San Diego, five grandsons Edward III, Matthew, Michael, Patrick, and Shawn Greany and three granddaughters Christina Greany, Jeanette Richards, and Kimberly Chavez. Her 11 great-grandchildren include Aiden, Alexis, Alyssa, Araceli, Gavin, Nicholas, Sierra, Kayla and Kyle Chavez along with babies Anthony Sweet and Jeffrey Greany who were already waiting for her in Heaven
