SCHWARTZENTRUBER March 26 1929 - February 23, 2006 Omar died peacefully, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Thursday, February 23, 2006, after a struggle with poor health the last number of years. He was 76. Beloved husband of Ada (Lichty), who predeceased him April 30, 2000. Omar is survived by his brother Lloyd Schwartzentruber and his wife Ida of Kitchener. He will also be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law; Helen Lichty of Barrie, Williard Lichty of Cambridge, Erma Swartz of Kitchener, Jean Schwartzentruber of Kitchener, Erma Schwartzentruber of New Hamburg and Gay Lichty of Kitchener. Omar had a special relationship with his nieces and nephews, his good friend Darlene Bast and many other dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister Edith Erb and her husband Mel, brothers Ray and Lester Schwartzentruber, brother Glen Schwartzentruber in infancy; brothers-in-law Gordon and Ken Lichty and parents Barbara (Yantzi) and Joseph Schwartzentruber. Omar farmed for many years at Petersburg. Together with Ada, they enjoyed many winters in Florida and summers at their cottage at Bala. He enjoyed golfing and visiting with his friends at the coffee shop. He was a member of Erb Street Mennonite Church, Waterloo. Friends are invited to share their memories of Omar with his family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Erb Street Mennonite Church on Monday, February 27, 2006, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Eleanor Epp-Stobbe officiating. Interment to follow in Erb Street Mennonite Cemetery. In memory of Omar, donations to the Building Fund of Erb Street Mennonite Church or Nithview Home would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and can be arranged through the funeral home.
