George A. Lake had a 1st wife Louisa Alice died 1906,
Ida Pamelia Graves Lake was his 2nd wife, died March 14, 1950.
George had one younger sister Susan Elizabeth Lake (1844-1878) named after their mother because their mother died at her birth. George was raised by his father Jeptha Lake and step-mother Sarah (Yarbrough) Lake. His little sister was raised by their maternal grandparents Anderson and Nancy (Hutton) Brown.
I recently found the grave of their mother Elizabeth Susan (Brown) Lake at Bethal Baptist Church Cemetery in Marion County, Missouri, and photographed it for Find-a-Grave. I think she had been all but lost. Reportedly she was 14 when she married and only 17 when she died.

I found George Lake's little sister Susan Elizabeth Lake who was born around the time of her mother's death. However, her birth date was supposedly March 12, 1843 & her mother died in 1844. Little Susan grew up with her maternal grandparents, the Browns, and married William Thomason Johnson and had 7 children. She died at age 34, on Oct. 19, 1877, surprisingly also near the time of the birth of her youngest daughter in Sept. 1877 who was also named Susan after her! She is buried in the same cemetery as her mother, Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, memorial 9004606.
