Son of Issac M. Sage, Jr. & Lucinda Case; grandson of Isaac & Mary Polly (Rice) Sage and George Jr. & Myra (Sage) Case.
"Sage Family Tree and Pictures", by Richard Sage (29 Feb 2004), "Ira was a Corporal in Company H 15th Regiment United States Infantry. Ira served under General Winfield Scott in the Mexican War."
First, married Esther Anna Richard Sep 29, 1850 at Rubicon, Dodge Co., WI. She died Aug 18, 1865.

Second, married Harriet (maiden name unknown) before the 1870 census for Louisville, Pottawatomie Co., KS.
Third, married Anna Mosella Ream, Oct 3, 1879 at Hays City, KS. She was divorced from her first husband, Thomas E. Pharis.
John Reuben Pharis (unknown if he was adopted, but John signed Grandpa's Death Certificate as "son")
